The holiday season is a time to give back, and the Red Cross is asking for blood donations.All blood types are needed this winter, but especially O negative, A negative, B negative and AB positive or negative.Donations around the holidays are down as donors travel and give less.As an added incentive, anyone who gives from November 27th until December 1st will get a Red Cross T-shirt.Upcoming blood drives:Nov. 25-27 from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at American Red Cross, 10151 E. 11th St.Nov. 29-30 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at American Red Cross, 10151 E. 11th St. (Closed on Thanksgiving.)Nov. 30-Dec. 1 from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Woodland Hills Mall, 7021 S. All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver's license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with parental consent in some states), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.
