Golden Hurricane Can't Keep Pace With Creighton

The University of Tulsa failed to get their seventh win of the season Wednesday when they traveled to Omaha to face #13 Creighton. The Blue Jays forced 24 turnovers and beat Tulsa 71-54.

The Golden Hurricane had a hard time getting into a grove. They shoot 37 percent from the field. TU was led by James Woodard with 15-points. He was the only Tulsa player in double figures. Kauri Black added 9.

Creighton led by as many as 22 points in the second half. Tulsa was able to cut it to 12 with a little over five minutes to play but couldn't get any closer.

The Blue Jays were paced by Avery Dingman with 21. He was 5-6 from behind the arch.

Tulsa will try to regroup and get ready for the Mayor's Cup game against Oral Roberts on Saturday at 2:00pm at the Mabee Center.

On a side note, Tulsa coach Danny Manning did not travel back to Tulsa with the team. He is taking care of some family matters. His wife Julie's father passed away on Tuesday. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Manning family.
