Investigation Continues After Police Officer Accused in Fatal Shooting
Tulsa police continuing investigating two of their own police officers accused in the shooting death of 19-year-old Jeremy Lake.
Shannon Kepler was arrested and the district attorney is working on formal charges. His wife and fellow officer, Gina Kepler, was arrested and accused of hiding information.
Both the Keplers have been with the police department for nearly 25 years.
Channel 8 requested information on any disciplinary action in the history of both. There was nothing on Shannon Kepler, who has been assigned to the training academy. However, Gina Kepler was suspended without pay in 2012 for missing assigned calls for help and for being at home for extended time during work hours.
The family of Jeremy Lake planned a vigil for Thursday night, as his mother hoped for justice.
"I just want justice. My son didn't do anything wrong. There was no reasoning for it," said Sherri Hamilton.
The Tulsa District Attorney's Office reduced Gina Kepler's bond, from hold without bond to $25,000.
