Jim Bridenstine Defeats Dem., Takes Control of District 1

Jim Bridenstine has defeated Democratic Congressional candidate John Olson and the independent contender, Craig Allen, in District 1 Congressional race. Bridenstine takes control with 21,520, or 68 percent of the votes as of 8:45 p.m.

Olson received 8,582 or 27 percent of the votes.

Bridenstine is a Navy veteran pilot, serving in Iraq and Afghanistan and has flown counter-narcotics missions with the Navy reserves.

According to Bridenstine's website, lowering taxes, lower regulations, tort reform and fair trade would "return America to economic greatness."

Bridenstine also supports the repeal of Obamacare, lifting restrictions on clean drilling and traditional marriage between a man and a woman."
