After meeting with Norman Police on Monday, Oklahoma freshman running back Joe Mixon will not be taking part in any Sooner football activities. Mixon has been accused of hitting 20-year-old Amanda Molitor in the face Friday night outside of the Pickleman's Gourmet Deli on campus corner. Molitor says Mixon broke four bones in her face. Mixon will be held out of activities until the police investigation is complete.
Mixon's attorney Kevin J. Finlay released this statement to the media on Wednesday:
"Our understanding is he is not being suspended, he is being held out of activities pending the conclusion of the investigation," Finlay said. "I believe that is University of Oklahoma policy, and he is being treated as would any student-athlete."
There has been no official word from the University, nor has head football coach Bob Stoops commented on the situation.
