Judge Sentences Woman for Wreck That Killed Teacher

A woman will spend more than 50 years in prison after being formally sentenced this week for second degree murder.

A Tulsa judge sentenced Marquitta Littlebear to a total 54 years in prison on Monday at the Tulsa County courthouse. She was found guilty in March for the death of a local teacher after a car wreck.

Court officials told KTUL that Littlebear's sentence will run consecutively.

Previous reports allege that Littlebear was driving the vehicle that struck and killed Susan Mamary near 51st and Yale. Mamary was an instructor at Marquette Catholic School.

Officers stated that Mamary was making a turn at the intersection when Littlebear reportedly struck her vehicle. Police stated that Littlebear left the scene shortly after.
