Judge Sets Trial for Two Men Accused of Hmong Festival Shooting

Two men accused of opening fire at a Hmong New Year's festival returning to court Monday morning for a scheduled hearing.

Boonmlee Lee and Meng Lee arrived at the Tulsa County courthouse for the arraignment. Prosecutors allege both men are behind the shooting that left five individuals injured October 2013 at the Green Country Event Center.

Court records indicate that both men pleaded not guilty for their roles in the shooting and requested a jury trial. They will return to court in December to begin the process.

Previous reports from KTUL state that both men were arrested after TPD helicopter observed a suspicious vehicle near the event center. According to the booking report, a firearm was located near where the vehicle was stopped.

During a previous court appearance a Tulsa judge decided to remove the shooting with intent to kill and assault with a deadly weapon for Meng Lee. He now faces an accessory after the fact charge.
