Two suspects connected with multiple armed robberies in late July have been arrested by Tulsa police.
The reported armed robberies involving the suspects occurred on July 21, 25 and 26 at two Dollar General stores and a Kwik Stop. In each of the armed robberies, the suspects robbed the stores at gunpoint and stole cash from the register, the police report states.
The TPD reviewed surveillance footage of each robbery and determined the incidents to be related. In the incidents, one suspect would "case" the stores before the robberies took place. In the most recent robbery, at Kwik Stop located at 12402 E. 11th Street, surveillance footage captured the suspect vehicle, a Chevy Blazer.
The suspect who cased the stores in the robberies taking place July 25 and 26 was taken into custody on Tuesday. He reportedly admitted to his role in the robberies and told police the names of the other suspects. That suspect was identified as Armad Gix. Gix told police he called 911 to report one of the armed robberies he was involved in at Dollar General because he was asked to by an employee.
On Thursday evening, one of other suspects, Kiantre Belcher, 25, was located and arrested on the 2700 block of E. 28th Street North. The suspect vehicle was found at his location.
Belcher was arrested on three counts of robbery with a firearm and Gix was arrested on two counts of robbery with a firearm. They are being held on $150,000 and $100,000 bond respectively.
