      Karo Pecan Delights

      Karo Cookie Contest

      Nancy Anglin from Broken Arrow, OK, 1st place, Tulsa State Fair

      1 1/2 cups Karo Syrup

      1/2 cup vegetable oil spread

      1 1/2 cups sugar

      2 eggs

      1 tsp. vanilla

      3 cups flour

      1 tsp salt

      1/2 tsp baking powder

      1/2 tsp baking soda

      1 cup sour cream

      4 oz pecan halves

      • Cream oil spread and sugar. Add eggs beating well and then add vanilla. Add dry ingredients and sour cream.
      • When well mixed drop a tsp. full onto a greased cookie sheet. Smooth a little with a knife.
      • Arrange pecans in a flour pattern.
      • Drizzle with Karo Syrup.
      • Bake at 400 degrees F. for 12 minutes. Cookies should be slightly brown.
      • Remove from cookie sheet and drizzle again the Karo Syrup.

      Makes 4 dozen cookies.
