Children at Wright Elementary in midtown were temporarily evacuated from the building Tuesday morning.
Initial reports stated that there was a possible natural gas leak somewhere in the building. This happened just after 7:30 a.m.
School officials made the decision to evacuate the school shortly after. Hazmat crews were called on scene to investigate.
It was later determined that the smell had possibly been coming from the refinery on the west side. No one was injured.
Classes at the school have resumed.
