A large grass fire left acres burned in Washington County Wednesday afternoon.
Officials with Washington County Emergency Management stated that the fire began burning Wednesday afternoon just north of Copan.
Fire crews with the Copan Fire Department told KTUL that more than 300 acres burned and that the fire crossed into Kansas.
Structures are believed to be in the path of the fire but crews have placed units around them to keep the fire away. A backburn process was begun on the Kansas side to help stop the spread.
Multiple fire departments were on the scene including Copan Fire Department, Bartlesville Fire Department, Caney and Dewey Fire Departments.
