Man Arrested After Hours-Long Standoff in Northwest Tulsa
TULSA, Okla. —
Tulsa Police arrested a man after a standoff that lasted nearly three hours early Thursday morning.
They say it all started shortly after midnight when a neighbor heard a gunshot and saw a woman running from a home near Admiral and North 50th West Avenue.
When officers arrived, they say 31-year-old Cozell Donald had holed up in the house with his girlfriend and her two toddlers.
Police eventually talked him into letting them go and say he surrendered around 3:00 a.m.
There's no word yet on what started the whole thing, but police say the girlfriend had been assaulted.
They believe Donald may have been under the influence of drugs.
He's jailed without bond for domestic assault and battery in front of the two children and for possessing a gun after a felony conviction.
