Man Arrested for Allegedly Setting up Craigslist Robbery
20-year-old Aaron Sloan was arrested Saturday for allegedly setting up a robbery through a Craigslist Ad.The victims met Aaron Sloan in the 2100 block of East 51st Street expecting to buy a 2003 Cadillac. One of the victims reportedly found the car on Craigslist. After meeting up with Sloan, the seller, going on a test drive and deciding to purchase, a masked man walked up to them and reportedly pointed a gun while demanding money.The suspect allegedly took a wallet and iPhone from one of the victims and the other victim ran away from the scene. Both eventually got away and called the police.
A witness reported Sloan watching the suspect walk up behind the victims. Then later both, Sloan and the suspect, reportedly ran off together. Police say Aaron Sloan also called dispatch to report the incident.
After the victims identified Sloan in a line-up, officers arrested him for one count of robbery with a dangerous weapon in concert and took him to the Detective Division to be interviewed.
Sloan denied being involved in the robbery and was reportedly uncooperative.
