Sequoyah County Sheriff's Office arrested and charged a man for a 16-year-old cold case.
Rex Robbins, 39, was arrested this week and charged with first-degree murder of Mitchell Nixon.
Nixon was killed on Oct. 9, 1997, but Robbins was not arrested at the time.
According to the sheriff's office, Robbins had been interviewed multiple times and was a person of interest during the investigation.
After getting a warrant earlier this week, the sheriff's office brought Robbins in for an interview and was arrested afterwards.
While investigating Robbins, the sheriff's department plan on making another arrest for the murder of Nixon.
Robbins is being held with no bond and his first court date is Wednesday, March 13 at 1: 30 p.m.
