An Oklahoma trooper is being treated for injuries Friday morning after a traffic stop turned violent in east Tulsa.
Authorities with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol placed Billy Miller under arrest for assault and battery on an officer. He was taken into custody at the scene where he reportedly attacked the trooper.
Booking information states that the unidentified trooper stopped Miller after he noticed him weaving in and out of traffic. He was reportedly intoxicated when the trooper questioned him.
It was when Miller was arrested that he began to attack the trooper, hitting him on the head. Additional officers were called on scene to assist.
Miller was transferred to the Tulsa County Jail. The trooper is recovering from his injuries.
