A man accused of kidnapping and raping an 8-year-old girl is scheduled to appear before a Tulsa judge Monday morning.
Court proceedings for Michael Slatten will continue Monday at the Tulsa County courthouse. He was charged in May with first degree rape, kidnapping and child abuse.
Records indicate that Slatten is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing and has been held in the Tulsa County Jail since his arrest. He previously pleaded not guilty to the charges during a previous court appearance.
Previous reports from KTUL state that prosecutors allege Slatten took the 8-year-old girl from an apartment complex in east Tulsa. Authorities were able to locate Slatten several hours later and return the child to her family.
Information from the Oklahoma Department of Corrections states that Slatten is a convicted sex offender. He is listed as a level three sex offender for sexual battery of a person over 16.
