Man Charged With Murder In Tahlequah Professor's Death

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says Joshua Schneider has been charged with murder.

Schneider, 33, has been charged in relation to the murder of Tiffany Maher, Northeastern State University Professor.

Maher's body was found inside her home in Tahlequah at the end of May. Police say several fires were intentionally set inside the house. Officers also say Schneider pawned and sold items he took from Mayher's home.

Agents say the two could have met through a dating website.

Schneider and his girlfriend, Heather Black, were on the run from police for over a week. Schneider and Black led police on a chase over a week ago when officers tried to serve felony warrants. They left Schneider's two-year-old daughter inside the car and ran on foot. The little girl is OK.

The two were captured Saturday afternoon in South Tulsa and booked into the Tulsa County jail.

Several law enforcement agencies are involved with this investigation.

Schneider is also charged with first degree arson and larceny out of Cherokee County.
