      Man Leads Sand Springs Police on 100 mph Chase

      A man is in the hospital after a high speed police pursuit ends in a crash.

      Around 11:30 p.m. Thursday police tried to pull over a man for speeding. The driver took off on North Highway 97.

      The chase reached 100 mph.

      The pursuit lasted about 10 minutes. The man crashed his Chevy Trailblazer into a pole when trying to turn near the 3000 block of North Highway 97.

      Emergency crews transported the driver to a Tulsa hospital for minor injuries, including a broken ankle and possibly glass in his eye.

      Police said the man showed possible signs of intoxication. He was driving with a suspended license.

      Police said he will face felony eluding charges and other traffic violations.
