Emergency crews responding to an auto-pedestrian call on Hwy. 75 say the victim was lying in the middle of the roadway when an oncoming car hit him.
It happened just after 11:30 Monday night just north of 56th Street North. Sheriff's deputies say the man was intoxicated and that the driver saw him on the road, but couldn't avoid hitting him.
The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries including a broken leg and other head injuries. He was identified by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol as Douglas Pittman, a 42-year-old from Collinsville. Deputies on scene said he's likely to face some charges for being on the highway as a pedestrian.
The driver who hit him was not ticketed.
