Men Scheduled for Hearings in Teen's Murder Case
One of the men facing murder charges for the death of a 14-year-old girl was scheduled for court Monday morning.
Demonte Rushing was charged with first degree murder and attempted robbery with a firearm in June. Rushing, David Ruble and Travis Lozada are all accused of taking part in the murder of April Montano.
Court records indicate that Rushing was scheduled for arraignment in a Tulsa County courtroom. It was decided that his preliminary hearing will coincide with Ruble's in September.
Previous reports from KTUL state that Montano was shot and killed riding in the back of her family's pickup truck. Prosecutors have stated that the three men wanted to steal the ATVs Montano's family was hauling.
Detectives with the Tulsa Police Department issued an arrest warrant last week for Lozada. He has not been located at this time.
