Police Take Man Wielding Machete into Custody
A man reportedly wielding a machete and threatening his wife was taken into custody early Tuesday morning.
Tulsa Police arrested Norm Osteen at his south Tulsa apartment complex and booked him on assault with a deadly weapon. This was after receiving word that he was allegedly drunk and threatening his wife with a machete.
Initial reports state that Osteen came home drunk and began to threaten his wife with a knife. She told him to leave and sleep it off at a friends home.
Moments later Osteen returned home and reportedly realized he had been locked out of the apartment. That's when cops stated that he forced his way into the residence.
Police were called on scene by a relative of Osteen's wife. When they arrived he refused to drop the machete.
A taser was used to subdue him and take him into custody. No one was hurt during the incident.
He is now being held at the Tulsa County Jail on $30,000 bond.
