Football season has finally arrived and the holidays are just around the corner. Your family and
friends will heartily dig into this All-American insanely delicious dip. By the end of the party, everyone will be singing that Jimmy Buffett classic, "Cheeseburger in Paradise" song!
2 pounds ground beef
8-12 strips bacon, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 cup diced white or yellow onion, small dices
1/2 cup sliced green onion
5-7 cloves garlic, minced
12 ounces cream cheese, room temperature (1 1/2 packages cream cheese)
1 1/2 cups sour cream
3/4 cup mayonnaise
1 1/2 cups mozzarella, shredded
2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
3 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
6 Tablespoons ketchup
Italian or French baguettes, sliced, brushed with garlic oil and toasted in the oven until brown
Your favorite chips
Shredded lettuce and diced tomatoes, for topping, optional
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Sauté the ground beef, white or yellow onion and garlic in a pan over medium heat; drain the grease from the pan and place ground beef mixture in large bowl.
- Cook the bacon in the pan until crispy, about 6-10 minutes, remove from pan to a plate; pat bacon with a paper towel to remove grease. Add bacon to ground beef mixture.
- In a large bowl, add softened cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, mozzarella, cheddar, Worcestershire sauce and ketchup to the ground beef and bacon mixture and pour it into a 9x13x2-inch baking dish. Bake in a preheated 350 degree F. oven until the top starts turning a light golden brown and the sides are bubbling, about 20-30 minutes. Remove from the oven and serve immediately with small toasted sliced baguettes or your favorite chips.
Note: If you want you can add shredded lettuce and diced tomatoes to the top of the Bacon Cheeseburger Dip once it has come out of the oven and then have everyone dig in. Be sure to wear protective gear or stay out of the way of your guests as they attack this winning dip!
