Mary Anne's Banana Split Salad
This salad is perfect for those hot summer days when the temperature is soaring and your taste buds want something cool and delicious. This salad is so good it can even be served as a dessert. Your family and friends will think they are eating a banana split.
5 bananas, sliced
1 21 ounce can cherry pie filling
1 20 ounce can crushed pineapple, drained well
1 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
1 cup finely chopped toasted pecans
1 large 12-ounce tub Cool Whip
-Mix all ingredients together in a medium-size bowl and chill for several hours before serving. If making ahead of time, do not add bananas until right before serving. Spoon into serving bowl. Serves 8-10 people.
Note: You can make this salad into a pie by adding 1/2 package non-flavored gelatin to 1 teaspoon warm water. Stir gelatin mixture. Add gelatin mixture to mixture. Stir well. Spoon over one prepared 9-inch graham cracker pie crust. Top with Cool Whip. Refrigerate for a few hours. Serve.
