      Buttermilk Cheese Biscuits Dripping With Cinnamon Honey Butter

      Nothing says "Southern" like buttermilk cheese biscuits! Why not serve your family hot homemade buttermilk cheese biscuits dripping with honey butter instead of the canned versions? This recipe is so easy to prepare and can be made in a matter of minutes. They are yummy-licious!!!

      2 cups self-rising flour
      1 teaspoon baking powder
      1/3 cup shortening
      1 teaspoon sugar
      3/4 cup grated Cheddar, sharp or mild
      1 cup buttermilk
      Salt
      3-4 Tablespoons butter, melted

      -Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a medium bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, to taste, and sugar together using a fork; cut in shortening until it resembles small peas or cornmeal. Add cheese. Stir in buttermilk all at one time just until blended. Do not over-stir.
      -Drop by tablespoonfuls, or use an ice cream scoop, onto a well-greased baking sheet. Brush dough with melted butter. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes. Serve hot with honey butter. Makes about 16 to 18 depending on the size.

      Honey Butter

      1 stick unsalted butter, softened
      1 Tablespoon honey, or more
      1/4 teaspoon freshly grated cinnamon

      -Place softened butter and cinnamon in a bowl and mix with a tablespoon or two of honey. Serve over warm biscuits.
