Mayor Enacts Hiring Freeze for Tulsa

The City of Tulsa has is under a hiring freeze after a decline in tax collections.

Mayor Dewey Bartlett notified city employees on Monday of the freeze in a letter. The mayor wrote that general fund revenues are expected to be down $261.1 million for the year.

The mayor said exceptions to the freeze will be made on a case-by-case basis if leaving the position vacant would create an emergency.
