Investigators Arrest Three in Downtown Bomb Prank
Police bust a trio of suspects accused of using fake bombs in an elaborate prank downtown.
Investigators say the three of five men total have been arrested so far. Police identified Nathan Michael Howe, 21, 22-year-old Daniel Blake Nix and 23-year-old Logan Daniel Sours as suspects in the hoax.
Police said Howe and Nix were arrested Monday around 5:00pm. Officers found and thoroughly searched their car late Monday night near 7th and Boulder in downtown.
Sours was found and arrested later in the night.
Police say the men walked up to passers-by on the street and handed them a bag full of oil, pipe fittings and wire.
The suspects allegedly told victims they were holding a bomb and recorded there reactions on video camera.
Police think they planned to upload the pranks to YouTube. Officers on scene said the two hid a storage card with the video in some nearby bushes.
There was no bomb or explosives in the bag, police said. Nix and Howe are each being held in the Tulsa County Jail on one complaint of manufacture, possession, sale or delivery of a simulated bomb.
Officers said they're tracking down the other three suspects. Investigators hope more victims will come forward in the next few days.
