Michigan Man Arrested for Alleged Rape of Oklahoma Teen

Cherokee County authorities arrested a Michigan man earlier this week on suspicion that he traveled to Oklahoma and raped an underage girl.

Christopher Dale Adams, 27, has been arrested in Cherokee County on anticipated charges of five counts of first-degree rape and five counts of forcible sodomy on allegations that he had sex with a 13-year-old girl in and around the Wagoner area.

According to a report from The Wagoner Tribune, authorities first became aware of this case in early March when a park ranger at the Sequoyah State Park pulled over Adams' vehicle and noticed the girl in there. Adams was let go but the case was referred to the Department of Human Services, because there was no way to "establish any reason the two were together," according to court documents.

Authorities were able to attain receipts and other documents that indicate Adams and the girl may have allegedly stayed at the Days Inn in Wagoner, at some time.tems from the room were removed and have been sent to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation for testing.

The Wagoner Tribune also reported that the girl's mother allegedly paid for Adams to travel to this area and even paid for his motel rooms, however at this time, the mother has't been arrested or charged.

Adams is being held in the Cherokee County Detention Center in lieu of a $100,000 bond with an initial arraignment date scheduled for May 21.
