Muscogee Creek Nation Second Chief Charged with Embezzlement

A Muscogee Creek Nation leader was arrested in relation to embezzlement charges from the tribe.

53-year-old Second Chief Roger Dana Barnett was taken into custody by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and now faces embezzlement charges.

According to investigators with the Department of Justice, Barnett embezzled, misapplied and converted money from the tribe for personal use.

The report states Barnett faces embezzlement charges of approximately $150,000 from the tribe.

If convicted, Barnett could face five years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000.
