Mustangs Break Golden Hurricane
If Tulsa coach Danny Manning and SMU coach Larry Brown were to play a game of one-on-one, I'm pretty sure Manning would win running away. But when their two teams get together it's been a dog fight. The Golden Hurricane won the first meeting between these two teams in Dallas 48-47.
Wednesday night in Tulsa the Mustangs won 71-65.
TU jumped out to an early lead, but SMU took the advantage midway through the first half. SMU was led by Nick Russell with 19 points, Cannen Cunningham added 17 points.
Tulsa pulled within one-point with under a minute left in the game but couldn't get any closer.
James Woodard paced the Golden Hurricane with 17 points. Scottie Haralson had 13.
Tulsa drops to 15-14 on the season, 7-8 in Conference USA play.
The TU crowd said goodbye to three talented seniors Wednesday night. Haralson, Kauri Black, Jamie Booker and Kodi Maduka were on the court for their final home game at the Reynolds Center.
Tulsa will close out the regular season at Rice on Saturday. Tip-off is set for 7:00pm.
