New Fee Means Everyone Will Pay A Little More To Fly
Get ready to pay a little more when you fly.
New rates for the TSA's "September 11th Security Fee" take effect Monday.
You'll see it added to the cost of your plane ticket.
It will now cost you $5.60 each way for non-stop and connecting flights.
If your layover is longer than four hours domestically or 12 hours internationally, you'll have to pay that fee twice.
The increase is part of a budget deal approved by Congress to reduce the federal deficit.
