No One Hurt after Explosion at Okla. Plant
SWEETWATER, Okla. (AP) - Authorities say no injuries were reported after an explosion and fire at a manufacturing plant in western Oklahoma.
The Beckham County Sheriff's Office says the explosion happened early Sunday east of Sweetwater, near the Texas state line. Authorities say that cold temperatures likely caused a valve to freeze shut, causing pressure to build in a tank at the plant.
The sheriff's office says the tank exploded and sent debris flying into nearby electrical wires, which sparked the fire.
Authorities say firefighters will allow the blaze to burn itself out, which could take hours. No one was hurt. The name of the plant and what it manufactures wasn't immediately released.
