OSBI Identifies Driver of Truck in Officer-Involved Shooting Near Henryetta
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has released the name of the driver of the truck in the fatal officer-involved shooting near Henryetta, Monday morning.
45-year-old Jesse Castillo Jr. of Seminole, Texas, reportedly refused to stop his vehicle when numerous officers attempted to pull him over.
A Creek Nation Lighthorse officer shot at the vehicle. Officials say the vehicle crashed into a ditch near mile marker 237. Castillo was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
Castillo's passenger was transported to the hospital. She was treated and released. The Okmulgee County District Attorney reportedly requested OSBI investigate the officer-involved shooting.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will rule on the cause and manner of death upon completion of an autopsy. That report will be included in the prosecution report OSBI will deliver to the District Attorney.
The D.A. will determine whether the shooting was justified.
