OHP: 10-Year-Old Dies In Bryan County Crash, SUV Driven By 13-Year-Old

Oklahoma Highway Patrol Troopers say a 13-year-old boy from Durant was driving an SUV when one of his passengers died in a crash.

It happened Sunday evening on a dirt road in Bryan County just south of Colbert.

Troopers say a the teen was driving at an unsafe speed when the SUV ran off the roadway.

That's when the teen over-corrected, causing the SUV to roll over, coming to rest on the driver's side.

A 10-year-old girl from Colbert was ejected out of the rear window, and the car came to a stop on top of her. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers say the crash was caused by unsafe speed and inexperience.

A 13-year-old from Caddo and an 11-year-old from Armstrong were also passengers. Troopers say no one was wearing a seat belt.

All names have been withheld because they are all juveniles.
