Oilers Knock Off Sundogs At BOK Center

The Arizona Sundogs tried their best to erase a four-goal deficit, but the Tulsa Oilers would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-2.

A goal by Kyle OKane put Tulsa up 4-0 in the third period, but Arizona pulled to within two on Jason Morgan's tally 19:01 into the third period.

The Oilers' offense was clicking better than usual and put 28 shots on goal during the game, better than the 19.8 shots per game they average. Tulsa's offense was helped by the efforts of its defensemen, who managed to put 13 shots on net during the game.

The Oilers were helped by Michel Beausoleil, who racked up one goal. Beausoleil scored on the power play 14:34 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Tulsa. Tulsa had gained a power play chance when Matt McCready was whistled for hooking. Jeff Buvinow provided the assist. Tulsa also got a goal from Ben Gordon as well. In addition, Tulsa received assists from Ryan Menei, who had two and Kyle Mariani and Drew Fisher, who contributed one a piece.

The Sundogs put 38 shots on net during the contest, more than the 22.3 they average per game.

Kevin Petovello also scored for Arizona. Other players who recorded assists for Arizona were Cody Purves, who had one.

Shane Madolora recorded 36 saves for the Oilers. Tulsa incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Arizona's David Brown stopped 24 shots out of the 28 that he faced. The Sundogs incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
