A man is in jail Friday after a crash on Highway 169 in Tulsa left one woman dead.
Emergency units were dispatched after receiving word that a single-car accident had resulted in the death of a least one person on Highway 169 and Interstate 244.
Officials at the scene initially stated that the driver of the car, George Carr, was headed northbound on Highway 169 when he drove into the next lane. It was then that he noticed a motorcycle and over-corrected to avoid striking it.
Both Carr and the unnamed female passenger were ejected from the vehicle after it hit a wall and flipped. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers placed Carr under arrest and booked him for second degree manslaughter. He is being held at the Tulsa County Jail.
Exits to I-244 were closed for a couple hours.
