Officials have identified a man killed during a fire at a northeast Tulsa residence over the weekend.
Fire crews were dispatched around 3 a.m. Sunday after receiving word of a house fire near Admiral and Highway 169.
Officials with the Tulsa Fire Department stated that three people were in the house at the time. One was able to get out, another was burned and another individual, later identified as Edwin Thornton was killed.
Emergency paramedics provided assistance to all those at the scene. Two firefighters also were injured during the fire attack.
Investigators have stated the fire to have been accidental and that it began in the kitchen. An approximate $60,000 worth of damage has been announced.
Fire officials are urging everyone to check their smoke detectors.
