One-Year-Old Bristow Girl Killed in Three-Car Wreck

A one-year-old Bristow girl was killed in a three-car wreck that also sent two others to the hospital. It happened around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday on State Highway 66, just a mile and a half north of Bristow. According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a 27-year-old man driving a Kia was heading south on 66 when he fell asleep, causing his car to go left of center and side-swiping another vehicle.A third car swerved to try to avoid the collision and went into the southbound lanes, where the first vehicle hit it on the passenger side.The driver of the first vehicle was treated and released from a Bristow hospital with arm injuries.Two kids in the third car were taken to a Tulsa hospital.A five-year-old boy was treated and released with head injuries.His sister, one-year-old Harper Matile, died from her injuries at the hospital, officials said.The mother. 29-year-old Jennifer Matile, and the driver of the second vehicle were not injured in the wreck.Troopers are continuing their investigation.
