A Grove man was transported to a Missouri hospital over the weekend for a reported assault incident that left his brother in the county jail.
Agents with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation were called to assist the Delaware County Sheriff's Office Sunday morning in Grove. This was in the area of South 610 Road.
Initial details from the OSBI state that officers were notified that Randy Murry had been assaulted by his brother, Gary Murry. It's alleged that the attack happened at the residence where several people had gathered to socialize.
Authorities have not released details about what lead up to the attack. Officers were able to recover a firearm that was used in the attack, but it is uncertain what injuries Randy received in the assault.
Randy was flown to a Joplin hospital and Gary was arrested for assault and battery with a deadly weapon. Further details are expected this week.
