OSBI Investigating Lawton Officer-Involved Shooting

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Lawton Saturday night.

The shooting occurred at approximately 10:45 p.m. on the 1500 block of NW Williams.

The subject reportedly pointed a gun at Lawton police officers and then at least one officer fired at and shot the suspect. Paramedic crews arrived to save the man's life.

OSBI originally believed the shooting victim, Duffy Ahhaity, 40, to have died from the injuries suffered in the shooting. But now the OSBI believes Ahhaity will survive the gunshot wound to his chest.

The OSBI will continue to investigate the police-involved shooting and the district attorney will determine whether or not it was justified.
