OSU Advances To WNIT Final Four

For the first time in program history, Oklahoma State's women's basketball team advanced to the semifinal round of the WNIT on Sunday afternoon with a 78-70 victory over Colorado in front of 2,392 fans inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.

The Cowgirls improved to 20-12 on the year and secured the program's 11th 20-win campaign. Additionally, the victory was OSU's 16th at home and set a new school single-season mark. The Buffaloes fell to 21-14 with the loss.

Behind a 52 percent shooting effort from the floor, the Cowgirls led for much of the first period, but were unable to pull away due to Colorado's outside shooting. The Buffaloes entered the contest shooting just 29 percent from beyond the 3-point line, but hit seven of their 13 attempts in the first half. For the game, they connected on 15 of their 32 3-point attempts.

OSU led by as many as 13 in the first half, but CU hit a pair of 3-pointers in the final two minutes to close the margin to 40-33 at the break.

The Buffaloes cut the deficit to two at 40-38 just a minute into the second half, before the Cowgirls answered with a 10-2 run to push the margin back to double digits.

OSU led 61-49 with 11 minutes left before CU reeled off the game's next 12 points, tying the game at 61 on a 3-pointer with Brittany Wilson.

However, the Cowgirls answered with 3-pointers by junior Kendra Suttles{}and freshman Liz Donohoe{}on their next two trips down the floor. With 3:30 remaining, Donohoe drilled another trey to push the margin to eight at 72-64 and regain momentum.

Donohoe finished with her third double-double in a row, scoring 20 points and pulling 13 boards.

Sophomore Tiffany Bias{}led all scorers with 24 points to go with six assists and three steals.{}

Toni Young added 17 points, nine rebounds and four blocks.

Julie Seabrook led the Buffaloes with 16 points, while Chucky Jeffery recorded a triple-double, finishing with 12 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists.

The Cowgirls will host San Diego on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Stillwater.
