LITTLE ROCK -- The Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame would seem like an odd setting for a former Oklahoma State head football coach. But it was appropriate when honoring Little Rock native and former OSU head coach Pat Jones.
"I'm the only one among this group of inductees that's from Little Rock," Jones explains.
"I went to Hall (High School). I started coaching here (in central Arkansas.)"
The other notable inductee with Oklahoma ties is former TU men's head basketball coach and first head coach of the Tulsa Shock, Nolan Richardson.
The coaching legend at the University of Arkansas reached the NCAA "Final Four" three times during his 17 seasons in Fayetteville.
Richardson is still the only coach to win a junior college national championship, the postseason NIT, and an NCAA championship during his coaching career.
