Owasso Man Taken to Jail for Reported Counterfeit Business

An Owasso man was taken into custody earlier this week for reportedly manufacturing fake driver's licenses.

Tulsa Police arrested Timothy Wood and booked him on one complaint of the computer crimes act on Monday. This was after the officers discovered Wood in a hotel room surrounded by fake licenses and counterfeit checks.

According to the booking report, an investigation began after police were notified that Wood had been keeping stolen items at a storage warehouse. Police were then sent to a hotel in midtown where they found the suspect.

"Officers did a protective sweep of the room and observed in plainview [instruments] of criminal activity," the report went on to describe.

During the search officers found a laptop, printer, check stock and several fake checks already made out to several individuals.

Drug paraphernalia also was discovered in the hotel room, according to the booking report.

Wood was transported to the Tulsa County Jail. He was booked on a $10,000 bond for one of the complaints.
