Woman Dead, Child in Stable Condition After Rollover Wreck
A woman is dead Thursday morning after a rollover wreck near the Broken Arrow Expressway and Sheridan.
Police were notified of the wreck around 6:20 a.m. near the Broken Arrow Expressway and Sheridan. At the scene they found a PT Cruiser had rolled over onto its top.
Initial reports from Tulsa Police state that the PT Cruiser had been traveling on the BA with another vehicle and both collided into each other. The collision sent the PT Cruiser over the roadway and down the hill.
Emergency paramedics discovered that two individuals, an adult woman and a five-year-old child, were in the vehicle at the time. EMSA told KTUL that the mother was reported dead at the scene.
Initially officials believed that the child was transported in critical condition to an area hospital. TPD stated this afternoon that the child was in stable condition with minor injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle was okay and remained at the scene during the investigation.
Police told Channel 8 they received conflicting reports about what happened. The lanes re-opened shortly after 11:15 a.m.
