Golf hall of famer Nancy Lopez will join professional male golfers Rickie Fowler, Bo Van Pelt and others today at the Patriot Golf Club in Owasso for the Patriot Cup.
The Patriot Cup benefits the Folds of Honor foundation, an organization which provides educational scholarships and other assistance to those who have dealt with a death or disability to their spouse.
Joining Lopez and Oklahoma State golfers Fowler and Van Pelt will be Bob and Kevin Tway, Scott Verplank, Willie Wood, Brandon Weeden and Mickey Tettleton.
"For these world-renowned athletes, the Patriot Cup is a chance to continue to give back to the community and state where they spent their college years," said Major Dan Rooney, who founded Folds of Honor. "We're proud to welcome Nancy, Rickie and others back to Oklahoma to further the Folds of Honor mission and honor our military heroes this Memorial Day."
The PGA players and others will partner with active or non-active military members and a Folds of Honor partner in the three-player match play event.
Tickets to the event are $20 and can be found at QuikTrip or at Stone Canyon Elementary School. Children 16 and under and those with an active or non-active military ID get in free.
