Two Placed on Administrative Leave Following Standoff in North Tulsa

Two officers were placed on administrative leaving following a standoff with another woman Wednesday morning in a north Tulsa neighborhood.

Tulsa Police told KTUL that the situation began when the woman, identified as Sheila Ann Wright, broke into a home in the 500 block of East 47th Street North. At the residence the victim told officers that Wright kicked the door down and then left.

The victim told officers that Wright left in a Chevrolet Avalanche. Officers were able to catch up to her near East 37th Street North and North Peoria where they reportedly felt threatened and fired their weapons on her.

Moments later Wright left the scene and drove to a residence in the 2800 block of N. St. Louis where officers surrounded her vehicle.

TPD stated that the residence near the vehicle was cleared and officers used pepper balls to remove Wright from the vehicle. It took authorities 45 minutes to remove her from the vehicle.

KTUL has learned that Wright was taken into custody and transferred to an area hospital. Her condition is unknown at this time.

TPD added that the two officers involved were placed on administrative leave. Their identities have not been released.
