Police Investigate Armed Robbery at East Tulsa Applebees

Tulsa Police are investigating an overnight armed robbery outside an East Tulsa Applebees restaurant.

It happened at the location near 41st and Garnett around 12:30 a.m.

Police said three people were in the parking lot by an employee's car. Two of the people worked at Applebees, and the third person was a friend. The workers were closing down the restaurant for the night.

A man in his early 20s wearing a black and white bandana over his face reportedly approached the group with a black semi-automatic pistol.

Police said the man took cash from each person and a cell phone from one of them.

He ran off, past a hotel next door .

"We have officers over at apartment complexes to the west just to see if he's out walking," said Sgt. Darren Bristow.

No one was hurt in the exchange.
