Arrests Made in Fairmont Terrace Murders

Cedric Poore

Police have arrested two people in connection to the murders of four women at a south Tulsa apartment complex.

Brothers, James Stanford Poore , 32, and Cedric Dwayne Poore, 39, will both be charged with four counts of murder, police said.

According to the booking report, investigators spoke with several witnesses detailing what the two brothers told them about the murders.

Witnesses told investigators that Cedric was armed with a .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol and that they were "going to pull a "lick" (robbery) at the victim's apartment."

Investigators were also told that they saw drugs, money and jewelry that was taken from the robbery at the victim's apartment.

James Poore spoke with investigators earlier today and confirmed being in the apartment, knowing one of the victims and that witnesses and his brother, Cedric, where in the apartment as well. He also confirmed that one of the victims used and sold illegal narcotics.

Witnesses told police that James Poore shot one of the victims, but his brother shot the rest.

The arrests were announced Tuesday afternoon at a press conference nearly one month after Twins Rebeika Powell, 23, and Kayetie Melchor, 23, were found dead along with 33-year-old Misty Nunley and 56-year old Julie Jackson at the Fairmont Terrace Apartment complex near East 61st Street and South Peoria Avenue.
