Porter Man Found Dead in SUV Near Creek Turnpike

State troopers have confirmed that a 53-year-old man died Thursday afternoon following a fatal collision on the Creek Turnpike.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol stated that Randy Ernsten was found dead in his SUV in an embankment off of the turnpike Friday morning. Investigators found the Porter man in his vehicle at 61st Street South in Wagoner County.

According to the official statement, troopers said Ernsten was southbound on the Creek Turnpike when he departed the road to the right. He reportedly traveled 475 feet off the roadway striking a fence and a dirt embankment.

Ernsten's black Ford Explorer went airborne for about 34 feet, crossed 61st Street and hit a fence landing in the ravine. He was wearing his seat-belt at the time.

OHP's George Brown told KTUL that investigators are looking at the possibility a medical condition was to blame for the accident. Officials will continue to investigate what took place at the time of the fatal collision.
