Pryor Man Hit By Train, Calls 911 Himself

A Pryor man hit by a train early Thursday morning was able to get up and call 911 himself, according to police.

The incident happened just west of Highway 69 and 49th St., in the southern portion of Pryor.

According to Pryor Police Capt. Steve Lemmings, the Union Pacific train conductor called 911 around 5:20 a.m., saying someone was on the tracks.

After the train hit him, the man got up, walked about 100 yards and also called 911.

Officers were able to locate him and he was flown by Life Flight to a Tulsa hospital.

His injuries seem to be limited to minor abrasions at this point and he should be released soon, Lemmings said.

Police don't yet know the circumstances surrounding how or why the man was on the tracks. His identity has not yet been released.
