Quapaw Public Schools were back in the classroom Tuesday for the first time since Sunday's deadly tornado.
The district did not have power immediately following the storm. However, the schools had power Tuesday, even though other parts of town did not.
"We've been without electricity and hot water and all that good stuff, so it's been a little bit rough," said parent Lonnie Cripe.
Superintendent Bruce Chrz said high school students had been scheduled to begin state testing Monday, and there is not necessarily a guarantee for an extension.
Chrz said there was an assembly Tuesday at the middle school about the tornado. The usual school counselors will be available to speak with students as they deal with the storm's aftermath. Chrz noted that no students were seriously hurt.
